I fell in love with these dainty cookies ever since I tried one at a friend’s baby shower few years ago. I heard that they’re really hard to make and people get anxious about the long process so, I decided to tackle this task with a big heart as I wasn’t expecting to master them. Luckily, I did, and I started looking forward to experimenting with many methods (French vs Italian), a ganache or jam filling, using various colors and flavors…Really, the sky is the limit especially that you can make them sweet or savory, decorate the top cookie or not…It’s up to you!
Needless to say that French Macarons are very expensive because you have to use almond meal. I get mine at Costco or other grocery stores. I don’t use the ones at Trader Joe’s because they’re darker in color vs other places.
Today, I’m going to share the link from another blogger’s website http://www.annies-eats.com/2012/12/28/how-to-make-macarons-step-by-step/ and I’ll share with you the ones that I made previously for a baby shower. I’m planning on making some for my son Joey’s wedding soon. Can’t wait!
Hope you’ll enjoy them and you will give them a try.
